Rising Stars: Meet Brittany Merida of Austin, Texas

Voyage Austin featured Brittany Merida in its Rising Stars series, a spotlight on the creatives and entrepreneurs shaping the city. In the interview, she shares how Merida.B Events began and what continues to drive the work.

"My journey into the world of events wasn't by accident, it was purpose-driven," she says. From a young age she was drawn to organizing, leading, and bringing people together in meaningful ways. Coordinating pep rallies in high school, planning pop-up boutiques in college, and hosting milestone celebrations for friends and family all revealed the same gift: seeing the bigger picture and bringing it to life with purpose and detail.

Merida.B Events was born out of that passion and a desire to create safe, stylish, and seamless experiences where people feel celebrated, seen, and inspired. As she puts it, she never wanted to simply plan events. She wanted to create impactful moments people would remember for a lifetime.

The road was not smooth. Last-minute venue changes, vendor cancellations, and clients still discovering their own vision taught her how to bring structure to chaos, ease to overwhelm, and clarity to vision. Her summary of it is characteristically direct: nothing worth having comes easy, but it is worth it.

Today Merida.B is a full-service event firm handling budgeting and financial oversight, vendor sourcing and relations, logistics and strategic planning, technical production including AV and lighting, and creative services from theming to décor to branding.

What sets the firm apart, she says, is intentionality. She takes the time to deeply understand each client's vision, brand, and audience so that every detail reflects their story, not just their schedule. And at the core of it all is community: championing local talent, spotlighting small businesses, and building platforms for creativity and connection in Austin.
